The History
According to the Bible, the story of Noah's Ark tells of a great flood sent by God to wipe out all life on Earth, except for Noah, his family, and the animals aboard the Ark. When the rains ceased and the waters receded, the Ark came to rest on the top of Mount Ararat, a mountain located in what is now eastern Turkey and considered sacred by the Armenian people. The Ark's landing on Mount Ararat has long been seen as a symbol of hope and renewal, and the mountain remains a revered site for Armenians.
